Brockton High School Bands
"An Education in Music is an Education for Life" About the Brockton High School Band Program The band program at Brockton High School presently consists of three major ensembles: Band I, Symphonic Band, and Jazz Ensemble. All instrumental students entering Brockton High School are placed in the Band I program. During the year, students are auditioned for advancement in the Symphonic Band. Jazz Ensemble auditions are held each year in September. Auditions for select ensembles, such as Wind Ensemble, are determined by the type of activities that are planned each year. Symphonic Band meets every day. Band I meets three days of the six day cycle. Approximately 220 students are currently in the high school band program. Performing activities each year include: Football half time show, four major concerts, competitions, both local and national, and numerous activities throughout the community. This program is extremely grateful for the outstanding support that the City of Brockton has demonstrated. The functional support and especially the attendance at our concerts have been outstanding. Sold out performances at Brockton High, especially at our holiday concerts, demonstrates this support.
